Welcome to GorgeCraft.\n\n\nGorgeCraft is a mod designed for players to build and construct to their hearts content. The aim is to give as much freedom as possible to the players for building, letting their imaginations do the rest. It takes the Alien builder class from the game Natural Selection 2, and gives it a whole new lease of life, freed from the ravages of battling pesky Marines.\n\n\nIt's a little known fact that the kharaa aliens are completely different races, absorbed by the bacterium in it's quest to grow. Back on their peace-loving homeworld, Gorges love to spend all their time building, playing sports and sliding around on their bellies. It is their calling. GorgeCraft gives you an opportunity to experience Gorges operating in their natural habitat...\n\n\nContaining 15 of the Alien buildings, and 10 Marine buildings while in ExoGorge mode, play away to your hearts content, making obscure art from the Alien buildings.\n\n\nRecommended for playing on your own, or on a listen server with friends. Avatar Vindaloo263126853Vindaloo's Colored Minimap [discontinued, read desc.]I am not gonna work on this anymore BECAUSE NS2+ has under HUD options choice of minimap player colors, it's a bit more agressive, not so subtle, but does a good enough job not to work on this. If you are playing on non NS2+ servers, I am sorry, but you shouldn't, it's awesome.
I don't know how long it's in NS2+, Mendasp told me year ago or so that he doesn't think it's a good fit when we can do it with the sprites, oh well. I should check the options more often. :)

Update 4:

- Updated to the latest sprites,

- Comp mod change in the past means no more gorge exit color problem.

- Aliens should be a tiny bit more red and marines not so dark blue.

- Left all buildings default except tunnel and obs, which are slightly highlighted in the middle parts of the sprite

- Changed exo and jetpack marine on minimap - triangle with "hands", triangle with "thrusters" respectively.

Update 3:

- Finally realized how that crazy multiply works. I'll post more in tech notes, but basicly it means only few colors available without lua changes, which are in conflict with many mods and consistency checks. :/

- Real red and real blue with color change on damage, greenish highlights on structures of interest.

- Changed color theme, aliens red/orange/greenish, marines blue/purplish/yellow center highlights.

Redish aliens, blueish-purpleish marines. Obs and gorge tunnels slightly highlighted. Marine minimap exos and jetpacks different from basic marine.

If you want other things colored write it here or contact me elsewhere and I can add it. I wanna take things slow tho, test them out in games, I don't want rainbow dash splattered everywhere.\n\n\nTechnical stuff:

I am using minimap_blip.dds (and now after update 4 also marine_minimap_blips) file, which is mostly allowed by consistency checking, but the way ns2 works I cannot really decide on my own colors and can only use multiply blending with colors set in lua code. It's ugly, but it works for the most part. If I were to use the lua, the file in question could be in clash with some server mods but most definetly would not go trough consistency checking as client side mod. :/

Mod should load after server mods and it's compatible with comp mods, and ns2+.

Most servers and all competitve allow this mod.

Avatar GameOver364338028Smaller Fonts for MenuThe text elements in the main menu get to large on low resolution because they don't scale.

This mod adresses this issue by resizing the used font in the menu, so that buttons and text fit on your screen again.
You can see the result by comparing the screenshots.

I recommend this for low resolutions (< 800x 600) where this issue occurs.

(ToDo:
* Resizing server browser table elements
* Resizing server detail table elements)

This mod overrides the main_menu.css file.

UPDATE: The CDT is working on scaling of UI elements for the next Build (273).

This only affects your client, not the servers.
